Youth Development Programs

Out of School Time Programs:

21st Century Community Learning Centers – PAEP designs and implements The After School STEAM Program, a visual and performing arts program, with funding through a grant provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

School District of Philadelphia Summer Learning and More – PAEP administrates and oversees artists for this summer program in visual and performing arts for students throughout Philadelphia.

School District of Philadelphia Talent Centers – PAEP administrates the after school and Saturday programs at Martin Luther King High School, Vare Middle School, and Audenried High School.

Philadelphia Department of Recreation – PAEP designs and implements performing arts residencies at recreation sites.

Free Library of PhiladelphiaLEAP and Books Aloud Programs – PAEP trains teen leaders, parents, and caregivers to build early literacy skill acquisition through the arts and produces arts residencies in library branches though out the City of Philadelphia.

PHMC 21st Century Community Learning Centers - Diversified Community Services and Methodist Services for Children and Families – PAEP provides professional development in arts integration strategies and content design for all visual and performing artists who teach for this out of school time and summer program.

Let Art Freedom Ring© An art-making and civics program of the Philadelphia Arts in Education Partnership for grades 5-8.

Program Details:
- Students study the concept of democracy, civic responsibility, and art making techniques with a professional teaching artist.
- Students work with the professional teaching artist to create a 6 foot, 3-dimensional interpretation of the Liberty Bell.
- The Bells are then judged and displayed at the National Constitution Center starting in July, where they reside for the summer.

Poetry Out Loud – PAEP produces the regional competition for this national, high school recitation program of the National Endowment for the Arts for the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.

 

Scholastic Art and Writing Awards – PAEP is the regional partner with the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers in the production of this national competition for middle school and high school students. PAEP works in collaboration with the Philadelphia Writing Project, University of Pennsylvania to adjudicate student work, produce a regional award ceremony, and exhibition of the gold and silver key awardees.
